Bagua & Xingyi Seminars with Andrea Falk

The Canadian seminar tour is a twice-a-year visit to maintain ongoing training groups that have been running since 2004. Beginners and newcomers to the groups are welcome. Experienced martial artists from external styles often enjoy the new challenge of xingyi and bagua, and may even heal old injuries and lengthen their training lives. For more information on Hebei Xingyi, visit Andrea’s Xingyi Page For more information on Magui Bagua, visit the Andrea Falk’s Magui Bagua site.

The next seminar will be held, February 2 & 3rd, 2013.

    Bagua: Cultivating Deep Skill February 2nd, 10:00 - 4:00; Feb3rd, 10:00 - noon.

This day an a half seminar will focus on Magui style Bagua. Andrea Falk has over 30 years experience in Bagua and has focussed on Magui style since 2001. The Magui style is a lineage that emphasizes Bagua’s connection to Qigong theories of ‘tendon changing’ and the practical application of ‘full body power’. The circle-walking training is slower and heavier than other lineages which helps build internal power quickly. This seminar is suitable for both beginners and continuing students of the Magui lineage.
Registration: $135; Saturday only: $90; Sunday half day only: $60

‘The practice of circle-walking trains the qi & blood, eventually developing the whole body. With training the body changes, the vital organs are revitalized & any diseases in the body will gradually disappear. The body becomes robust & one’s spirits become clear & strong.’

Xingyi: Aligning Form and Intent February 3rd, 1:00 - 3:30
Assertive, economical and direct, Xingyi is the most linear for the internal styles. Its foundation is built on the theory of five phases/elements and is practical in its training approach. Andrea Falk will be teaching in Guelph, covering the five fundamental strikes for beginners, and the 12 animals forms and partner routines for returning students. Learn how to, “Rise like a sweeping wind, strike like raining arrows” with the translator of the 3 volume, “Di Guoyong on Xingyi Quan” one of the best English language translations in Chinese martial arts.
Registration: $60; with spear worskhop: $100

Chinese Spear: King of the Long Weapons February 3rd, 3:30 - 6:00
Opportunities to train long weapons in the internal styles are far from plentiful. The spear is dynamic, challenging and rewarding to train. Andrea Falk will be teaching a half day seminar in Guelph on fundamental techniques for beginners and routines for returning students.
    Registration: $60

Full day Sunday (Bagua, Xingyi & Spear)Registration: $160
    Full weekend registration: $220
