Literacy Problems
The internal arts have been an oral tradition. It is only relatively recently that things have been written down. Illiteracy was more the norm in rural China. There is a problem with being literate. It tends to make people value what can be read or seen, over what can be felt or experienced. Avoid confusing clever with smart and what you’ve seen with what you’ve experienced.
